Yellow Cabinet

I came across this little cabinet at a barn sale. I loved the petite size and the glass door. It was a tan color that almost made it look like plastic. But it was solid wood and very sturdy.

The back of the cabinet however, was not much more than a piece of cardboard, but that just gave me a good excuse to use more beadboard. I love beadboard!

I painted the main part of the cabinet a soft yellow (Custard by Martha Stewart) and the beadboard backing went white (Luminous White by Sherwin Williams). This white is the same color as the real beadboard in my bathrooms and laundry room. As the name implies, it is a nice bright white. I think it really makes the beadboard pop!

The yellow got a very light distressing and a white glaze. I wanted a really soft look for the this piece.

I thought the little wooden knob just suited the cabinet, so I painted it white to match the beadboard.

Sweet, don't you think?

And Cassie, you were right, paint comes right off glass. No more fear of glass doors!
